Industrial Carpentry Foreman

Locations: Lebanon, Leiters Ford, and Logansport, Indiana

Pay: $26–$38 per hour, based on job location and experience

Position Overview

Grand Industrial is seeking skilled industrial carpenters, lead carpenters, and foremen for industrial and commercial construction projects in Lebanon, Leiters Ford, and Logansport, Indiana. We are looking for dependable professionals who take pride in their craftsmanship, work safely, and contribute to a productive team.

Responsibilities vary by assigned position and project. Carpenters perform skilled construction work, while lead carpenters and foremen also coordinate crews and daily field activities. Leadership roles are hands-on, with the balance of fieldwork, planning, scheduling, and supervision depending on project size. Assignments may include travel to other project sites throughout Indiana and surrounding areas.

Construction Responsibilities

  • Build, install, repair, and maintain structures and fixtures using wood, aluminum, steel, concrete, and other construction materials.
  • Perform framing and install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, windows, doors, trim, moldings, finishes, and other structural components, including work within steel structures.
  • Erect concrete forms; plumb, level, and grade; place embeds; rig large formwork; and operate equipment needed to place concrete as assigned.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, and construction drawings. Prepare layouts, measure and mark materials, and calculate dimensions, material quantities, and basic load requirements.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely, including saws, drills, and sanders. Fasten materials with appropriate nails, screws, staples, or adhesives and move materials around the jobsite.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding and perform demolition, repairs, and structural maintenance as assigned.
  • Follow applicable building codes, safety rules, and company procedures. Maintain a clean work area, check completed work with levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares, and correct deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with coworkers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other construction professionals to maintain quality and keep work on schedule.

Lead Carpenter and Foreman Responsibilities

For positions with crew leadership responsibilities:

  • Lead crews while working alongside the team; plan daily activities and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project resources.
  • Coordinate assigned construction scopes and trades, including carpentry, concrete, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural work, and finishes.
  • Work with Project Managers to schedule work, resolve field issues, monitor progress, and maintain workmanship, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, mentor less experienced carpenters, and complete daily reports, timecards, timesheets, and project documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 2 years of carpentry experience; 4 or more years of commercial or industrial carpentry experience preferred for lead and foreman positions.
  • Previous experience as a Lead Carpenter, Foreman, Crew Leader, Supervisor, or similar is required for positions with crew leadership responsibilities.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, perform accurate layout and measurements, and use carpentry tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience with concrete, framing, structural steel, doors, finishes, and general construction preferred. Welding experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; leadership skills appropriate to the assigned role.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal basic carpentry hand tools. An acceptable driving record is required for company vehicle eligibility.
  • Ability to work safely at heights, travel to assigned jobsites, and work overtime and weekends as project requirements dictate.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and comply with Grand Industrial’s Substance Abuse Prevention Policy, including random testing.
