Fall is here and Mother Nature is showing off her changes with the beautiful colors, crisp air, and cooler nights signaling that the winter weather may be upon us soon. Grand Industrial is hustling during this fall season utilizing the nice days to get those remaining outdoor projects completed before old man winter arrives. Equipment and dumpsters are being loaded and transported constantly to jobsites on all points of the map for support to the field personnel. Our well-trained crews are ready to tackle anything our clients can request or are willing to challenge Grand Industrial’s capabilities.
In this photo above, our client in northern Indiana had a request to replace the employee entrance turnstile and the concrete that was leading to the entrance. They stated that “the concrete around the employee entrance is cracked, and puddling. We get a lot of complaints about safety during the winter months. We would also like to replace the turnstile as we want it to be secured on only one side so that our employees do not have to badge out. We will also need a temporary entrance for our employees while this work is being completed.”
Noting the demands for this particular job, our project manager began working on a plan to complete all the tasks with minimal disruption to our client’s facility or that would be disrupting the personnel traffic. Our safety director was petitioned to have a look at where the temporary employee entrance was going to be placed ensuring that people would be able to traverse the area safely. Preparations were underway including erecting temporary fencing to keep the area secure and safe from people walking into the construction area. The existing concrete was marked, cut, and removed as well as eliminating the out-of-date turnstile. New concrete was poured taking attention to sloping it properly for shedding water away from the employee entrance. The new turnstile was installed working in tandem with the client’s electrical contractor to energize it as needed for badging entry into the facility.
Our customer was thrilled and expressed “this was a big concern for us, and Grand Industrial really knocked it out of the park! The people that worked on this were very professional, utilized good communication, and were ready to work when they showed up.” No more water puddles around the employee entrance and with no more complaints that the turnstile is broken we can focus on other things at the facility. We will have Grand Industrial back; they are great to work with.”
Another successful job was concluded and previously mentioned was the concern for safety as it is always a priority here at Grand Industrial. Employing a full-time Safety Director helps put some of those concerns to rest. Working with our project managers, the various crews and clients ensures that the safety director’s number one focus is to make sure everyone makes it home daily. They consistently hold Toolbox talks, conduct safety inspections of equipment & job sites, issue personal protective equipment and preview as well as supply the proper safety equipment for each project.
If you still have a fall project or any project in general, please give Grand Industrial a call before the weather gets too cold to complete those outdoor projects and as needed. Our experience, training, and personnel can be offered to help your company out with any of your needs when ready for your next project.
